Happy New year wildlife enthusiasts, as we start this year, I would like to recap on the year that was 2015. It was a great year for my wildlife photography. I saw a lot of growth in myself, my images featured in many platforms and I got to sell lots of my images around the world. When i started 2015, i put a task on myself. I wanted to shoot more nature, I wanted to shoot rivers, big violent rivers that flow across continents, I wanted my art to flow into the souls of the African people. I wanted to photograph the many tribes who’s rich culture flows in their long ear pieces. I wanted to photograph the wild fierce cats that share a home with these tribes! I wanted to photograph the young cubs that roam the African plains with no idea whatsoever, what Impala their mum will bring down tomorrow for the sake of their survival.
I wanted to photograph Africa, it’s people, it’s big cats, it’s vast landscapes and the beautiful animals that grace it. I wanted people outside Africa to see this beauty through my Lens because I believe I know Africa better. I wanted the African people to look at my images and think, Whoa we live in a beautiful land, because after all is said and done, there is nothing like the African sunset!
Believe it or not, i got just what i asked God for. I got to witness many things for the first time. My Canon and I got to witness the famous monster crocs of Mara make a kill, we got to witness the famous Malaika hunt.. successfully. We got to witness countless golden sunrises and sets. All i can do is be grateful to God for the opportunities he gave me in 2015 and pray that he gives me even bigger ones in 2016.
