2026-27 Maasai Mara – Kenya
Welcome to our Big Cat and Predator Expedition in one of Kenya’s most breathtaking and iconic landscapes – Maasai Mara.
This isn’t just a Safari, we approach our expeditions with the same dedication and precision as our wildlife film productions, making thorough preparation a top priority. Our commitment to the highest ethical standards in wildlife documentation ensures not only a responsible and respectful experience, but also prioritizes your health, safety, and well-being while you are in the field. You’ll be fully briefed and supported at every step, guaranteeing a secure and enriching adventure in the field.
We are now taking 2028 interest, please email your interest to enquiry@clementwild.com
The Trip Itinerary
After completing the booking of your spot on our expedition, we prepare and provide you with all the necessary details for your travel, including a detailed packing list, gear check to ensure you have the required equipment, a detailed location risk assessment document, a med evacuation plan document and inform you about vaccinations and documentation for entry into Kenya.Â
DAY 1:
Because expedition members will be flying from different locations, we always advise to use Day 1 for arrivals, resting and acclimatising. Upon your arrival at JKIA, we transfer you to your comfortable accommodation in Nairobi, where you will stay overnight.
DAY 2:
Your 7-Day Big Cat Expedition begins here. The next day, we catch an early morning flight to the Maasai Mara to maximise our time in the field, using the arrival on location day for scouting active predators and locations. Depending on the schedule, we can either head to your hotel or continue exploring until sunset, with meals arranged as needed. This careful daily planning ensures an unforgettable adventure.
DAY 3-7:
After settling in, every day starts with a 5:30 a.m. wake-up call, followed by a quick cup of coffee or tea (since you are in Kenya), loading equipment, and leaving camp at 5:45 a.m. It’s essential to leave early so that we can locate our subjects before the sun rises. This ensures we utilise the beautiful golden light that transforms the Maasai Mara into a savannah paradise. And then… the fun begins!
DAY 8:
On the last day, we take our morning drive and return to the camp by 8:00 a.m. to pack for our flight back to Nairobi, which departs at 11 am. The same accommodation in Nairobi will be available for you until you are ready for your international flight later that day. We must align on this before you book your tickets to Kenya, especially the return booking timings.

The Fun Part – Documenting Predators
We use Photography converted vehicles with access on all sides, enough room for your gear and all expedition members. While in the field, Clement is constantly engaging in discussions with guests to discuss strategies, approaches to ethical wildlife photography, identifying unique stories that can be told with photos, and camera techniques that can be used in the field. The rest is pure adventure, exploration, and time to practice your artistic interpretation of wildlife subjects, as well as the ability to tell compelling stories through your lens.Â
In the Early mornings, we usually target Lions and Leopards as they are most active, and you are likely to witness beautiful scenes of cubs playing or a hunting behaviour. Some Big cats use a lot of energy when hunting; they often take advantage of the cooler early hours to hunt and feed before the heat of the day sets in. However, because of food chain dynamics, not all predators hunt during the morning hours. We have observed cheetahs conducting a significant portion of their hunting during the day, when larger predators are less active and less likely to steal their meals. For more information on cheetahs hunting during the day, check out our article – DAYTIME STALKERS
We love Well Rested & Healthy Guests 🙂
We are flexible with meals according to the guests’ requirements for the trip. We can either pack meals and enjoy picnics at designated picnic sites or dine at the hotel; either way, we guarantee fresh food, taking into account any dietary requirements you may have.
Our Big Cat Expeditions partner, Matira Bushcamp, understands the needs of photography guests in terms of sightings, ethical guiding, comfort, and the reliability of providing all necessary amenities for our busy itinerary.  Â
While in the field, you can expect downtime to occur, which may be caused by hot weather or a decrease in animal activity. We are always adaptable to such situations and use them as an opportunity to create time for picnics, sundowners, cultural visits and Incamp tuition, where we can review footage, discuss selections, and explore post-production processes.Â

Join this Expedition
Winding down the day at the lodge is always our favourite thing to do. Just before dinner, sitting around the campfire to discuss our day’s events, gathering intel from other guides always informs our decisions on what to target the next day. As we go day by day, we usually create a routine that works for the whole team.Â
It’s my hope that you will join us for the 2026 & 2027 Big Cat & Predator Expeditions.Â
Until the next one, stay WILD, yours, Clement.
